I just re-recorded one of short stories in Final Cut Pro on my new iMac. I plan to keep improving my skills.
I am using Reno as a base for visiting familiar places and exploring new places. My first excursion was a day trip back to Truckee, Sierraville and Frenchman's Lake. The first two were familiar places but the lake was one I had not visited. I attaching a slideshow of the lake and its river. I am in the process of placing my Burnt Mountain Press books to sleep. My books will still be available for sale through Amazon, but I do not plan on writing, publishing or marketing in the near future. I am moving to Reno and plan to spend some time enjoying desert and mountain places that I have known and loved and discovering new places. I may post pictures and essays from time to time.  I bore easily. I crave quixotic adventures and new horizons. I have spent over seven years researching, writing, publishing and promoting books. Last year I also spent the night in 57 cites and towns in 28 states and two provinces while visiting many parks and scenic byways. The picture is of a waterfall in Ontario. I have quit the writing business. I am keeping the books on the various websites, but do not intend to promote them. I plan to hibernate for a bit and then start planning my next adventure. I have a new camera and am taking drawing lessons and learning Gimp, a free source photo editor. I am going to Ottawa this month and to Maine and Nova Scotia later in the summer. I will do some free book giveaways, but other than than do not plan to write, market, coach or do workshops until October. 
I had quit writing in January and thought I was through with fiction for a while. Suddenly Diamond woke up and nudged me into 3000 words. I decided to take off for a road trip. It has been several years since I did that and am getting no younger. Plan to visit some of my favorite places on the Pacific Coast, redwood forests, the Sierras, the Rockies and Taos as well as a few places I've never been. I should come away with a lot of scenery for Diamond to operate through. Plus, I usually write copiously when I travel. The last trip to Reno I averaged 4000 words a day. 
This trailer focuses on marketing for the do it yourself publsher. I am doing a little desultory marketing of my nonfiction book. I have bought a different immersion course in French and am pointing towards another couple of months in Quebec this summer. | Dewey Dempsey
I have written and published seven fiction and one nonfiction book in paperback and ebook format. I have published two collections of short stories in ebook. I have an author page on Amazon.
