This is one of what I call my "challenge" stories. A group of us were talking trivia and the phrase "falling off a turnip truck" came up.  One of my friends laughed and said "I bet Dewey has a story about that."  I laughed and said, "not yet."  But the turnips transformed into "neeps" and the story appeared as I was telling it.
