I had quit writing in January and thought I was through with fiction for a while. Suddenly Diamond woke up and nudged me into 3000 words. I decided to take off for a road trip. It has been several years since I did that and am getting no younger. Plan to visit some of my favorite places on the Pacific Coast, redwood forests, the Sierras, the Rockies and Taos as well as a few places I've never been. I should come away with a lot of scenery for Diamond to operate through. Plus, I usually write copiously when I travel. The last trip to Reno I averaged 4000 words a day.
